AlphaGraphics

Client campaign assets Email delivery workflows Responsive marketing builds

Designed and developed responsive digital marketing assets and custom web workflows for client campaigns.

AlphaGraphics is a nationwide print and marketing franchise. In this role, I bridged the gap between design and development, transforming creative concepts into responsive landing pages and high-converting marketing emails. This position established my foundation in client workflows (aka working for the client) and the technical complexities of cross-client email rendering.

Responsive Email Campaigns

The bulk of the work was building HTML emails for clients across a range of industries. Each campaign had to meet the client’s brand requirements, render correctly across email various clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail), and pass deliverability checks before going out through Litmus.

After being frustrated with how I couldn’t use my modern HTML knowledge in emails, I stumbled upon MJML. I used it to handle the notoriously fragile email layout model. Understanding deliverability ( sender reputation, spam trigger avoidance, etc.) was a very useful skill to learn exactly how hard it is to get in people’s inboxes.

Client Digital Marketing Assets

Beyond email, I developed basic responsive websites (online invitations, announcements, brochure websites, etc.). This really stabalized and cemented my knowledge of the design to code workflow.

Automated Ordering Sites

Developed and maintained custom B2B web-to-print storefronts that streamlined the re-ordering process for clients. These self-service portals were where users could log in, view their historical design assets, and dynamically customize and re-order prints (like business cards and marketing materials).

Skills in Context

MJML — a purpose-built framework for responsive email markup. Introduced me to the constraints of email development and how to work within them productively.

Email deliverability — learned the practical side of getting emails into inboxes: authentication protocols, content hygiene, and list management basics. A niche skill that’s surprisingly useful.

Client-facing development — first role where I was translating non-technical client requirements into working code on a deadline. Built habits around scoping work clearly and communicating constraints.

HTML + CSS + JavaScript — pre-framework fundamentals, applied to a company production environment for the first time.
